Comes With Turbocharged 2.3 Liter Engine – The 2010 Mazda CX-7

The Mazda CX-7 is a mid-size, crossover sports utility vehicle, produced and sold by the Japanese based Mazda Motor Corporation. The CX-7 was first introduced with the 2006 model year. The vehicle was Mazda’s first SUV produced since the Navajo, which was discontinued after the 1994 model year.

The 2010 Mazda CX-7 comes with two engine options. The first engine option is a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine which comes as standard in all trims. For a crossover SUV, the 2.5-liter engine does not get very good performance. The 2.5-liter engine generates 161 horsepower when it is coupled with the standard five-speed automatic transmission. While performance is not too impressive, the new 2.5-liter engine gets 20 miles per gallon in the city and 28 miles per gallon on the highway, as estimated by the Environmental Protection Agency.

The second engine option for the 2010 automobile is a turbocharged 2.3-liter, four-cylinder engine. When the turbocharged engine is selected, the SUV is upgraded to a six-speed automatic transmission. The turbocharged engine gets much better performance than the 2.5-liter option. The turbocharged engine produces and EPA estimated 18 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway.
